Brief Summary of the Movie from the book of Daniel Chapter 1-3:

"During the Jewish exile to Babylon, Daniel and his friends face trials as Babylon's armies conquer Jerusalem. Under King Nebuchadnezzar, they gain royal favor but make enemies. Their faith is tested at the fiery furnace." - from the producer -

The “Daniel and the Fiery Furnace” movie is based on Daniel chapter 3, however, I encourage you to read Daniel chapter 1 through chapter 3 because you can learn about the key reasons from chapter 1 that led to the events described in Daniel chapter 3.  Throughout the film, it encourages people to remain completely faithful and obedient to God in all seasons and circumstances of life, even when faced with extreme danger, persecution or death.  God is almighty and can be completely trusted for His good decisions over us.

Highlights of Lessons:

  • KNOWLEDGE - God's Presence in TrialsAlthough Daniel and his friends were young ages, they knew God is always with His people, even in their deepest struggles and darkest hours, encouraging us to enjoy his victory.

  • DECISION - Courage Over Pressure:   The story encourages believers to stand firm on God’s side against worldly pressure rather than conforming to the demands of worldly rulers and pressures.

  • DETERMINATION – Unshakable Faith -: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow down to King Nebuchadnezzar's golden statue because they had chosen to serve God alone.

  • ACTION in FAITH - Faith Without Condition: They believed that God had the power to save them, yet they declared that they would remain loyal to Him even if God doesn’t save them.

NOTE:

In the film, young men who were captured in Judah and specially selected to serve the King of Babylon are shown briefly as part of a scene in which young women use belly dancing performance to seduce the men and turn them into Babylonians.  Also, among the scenes depicting the history of the people of Judah being taken into slavery in Babylon, there are a few brief instances of bloody violence.
